Mimiko and Nanako Hasaba in Jujutsu Kaisen: Geto’s Daughters Explained
Mimiko Hasaba (枷場美々子) and Nanako Hasaba (枷場菜々子) are twin sisters, curse users, and the two people closest to Suguru Geto throughout his time as a curse user. They were rescued from a village that imprisoned and beat them as children, taken in by Geto, and spent their adolescence growing up inside his organisation. They are minor antagonists in JJK 0 and the main series, and their deaths during the Shibuya Incident result from a plan to force Sukuna to kill Kenjaku on their behalf.
Geto brought his entire leadership group to Tokyo specifically to eat crêpes because Mimiko and Nanako would not attend the pre-Night Parade meeting otherwise.

Who Are Mimiko and Nanako?
Mimiko and Nanako Hasaba are twin sisters with sorcerer ability who were imprisoned and beaten by their own village as children, rescued by Geto on a mission, and raised inside his organisation — the two people in Geto’s life who loved him in the most uncomplicated and personal way.
They were born in a small rural village in 2002. Their family had above-average cursed energy passing down through the bloodline. The village blamed them for mysterious deaths and disappearances connected to curses they had nothing to do with. In September 2007 the villagers captured, beat, and imprisoned the five-year-old twins. Geto was dispatched to investigate.
He found the twins imprisoned. The villagers asked him to kill them as part of the resolution. He had just exorcised the curses causing the deaths. The request was to murder children he had just saved. He destroyed the village instead and took Mimiko and Nanako with him.
Geto was too young to officially adopt them at the time and did not seem interested in the formality regardless. He raised them informally. They called him their father. That was the arrangement.
They share sorcerer supremacist ideology because they grew up in Geto’s organisation and were taught his worldview from childhood. They call non-sorcerers monkeys. They follow Geto with complete personal devotion. When Kenjaku takes over Geto’s body, they do not accept the arrangement — they want their father back.
Mimiko is aloof and emotionally restrained most of the time. She carries a stitched doll with a noose around its neck. Her technique involves rope and hanging — using the doll as a medium to attack targets. She struggles with her identity when Nanako is not present to take the lead.
Nanako is more openly expressive and fashionable, dressing in kogal style. Her innate technique is smartphone-based — she photographs a target and can manipulate them through the image. She is the only character in the series whose technique is built around modern technology. She wanted to kill Kenjaku immediately when he took Geto’s body. Mimiko and Manami Suda overruled her.
What Happens to Mimiko and Nanako?
The twins appear in JJK 0 as members of Geto’s group, work with Kenjaku after Geto’s death while secretly planning to recover Geto’s body, force-feed Sukuna’s fingers to Yuji during Shibuya to manipulate Sukuna into killing Kenjaku, and are killed by Sukuna when he is freed instead.

Mimiko and Nanako appear in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 as part of Geto’s inner circle during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. Their most memorable scene is the crêpe moment — Geto brings the entire group to a crêpe shop in Tokyo before the meeting because Mimiko and Nanako will only attend if they go there first. The moment humanises both Geto and the twins simultaneously, showing the domestic warmth beneath the organisation’s ideology.
After Geto’s Death
When Kenjaku takes Geto’s body, Nanako wants to kill him immediately. Mimiko and Manami Suda disagree — they choose to work with Kenjaku because continuing Geto’s work seems more important than the body question. Nanako does not accept this fully. Both twins secretly begin looking for a way to force Kenjaku out of Geto’s body without destroying it.
Shibuya Incident
During the Shibuya Incident, Mimiko and Nanako find Yuji Itadori in the tunnels. They force-feed him ten of Sukuna’s fingers while he is incapacitated — dramatically increasing Sukuna’s power inside Yuji’s body. Their plan is to give Sukuna enough strength to break free, then ask him to kill Kenjaku in exchange for the fingers. Sukuna takes the fingers. He does not make deals. He kills Mimiko and Nanako instead and goes to find Jogo.
Their plan accelerates the Shibuya Incident’s catastrophe significantly. Sukuna’s full power in Shibuya — the fires, the Mahoraga fight, the deaths of Nanami and others — begins with Mimiko and Nanako’s choice to force-feed him those fingers.
Why Do They Matter?
Mimiko and Nanako matter as the human core of Geto’s legacy. They are what Geto saved when the system asked him to kill them. They are what grew from that choice — two children who absorbed his ideology because it was the air they breathed, who loved him personally and specifically, and who died trying to get him back from a person who stole his face.
The organisation’s ideology is abstract and large-scale. Mimiko and Nanako make it personal. They also represent the unintended consequence of Geto’s most human act: the choice to save them instead of kill them is what broke him from the system and set everything else in motion.
